Zartan was made from a WWF action figure, I think it was Sting. I used this as the base figure because of the "armor" design he had on his legs. I could have used just about any action figure and just sculpted on that detail. But this made it easier. I removed the figure's hair and added Zartan's trademark hood. His shoulder armor was from a Wolverine figure. His belt was a piece of scrap plastic I had in my "parts" box. A fairly quick and easy character to complete. I wanted to keep him in the classic 80's style, just kicked up a notch.
