The Sand Trooper was created using the Han Solo Storm Trooper from the Unleashed line.  The basic Storm Trooper (as of 2006), was way to expensive to use as a base.  Now I could have just treated this figure as a simple re-paint, and dried brushed the whole figure with brown paint and called it "done",  but I've never been the type to go easy when it comes to customizing.   This Sand Trooper was taken a few steps further.   I used plastic styrine, cut into shape, for his shoulder armor, and created his back pack from loose parts from my "Box-O-Parts".  I then went to town with my airbrush, using  browns, tans and blacks  to really blend the colors together.  I then used sand paper to scuff up my wonderful airbrush work.  I wanted to make sure that the armor really reflected the wear and tear of the Tatooine desert .  The Han Solo figure came with a "Trash Compactor" base,  so I used tons of putty to cover it over.  While the putty was still soft, I tapped high grit sand paper into the putty to create the desert texture.   After the putty set, I felt the base still needed detail.  I rummaged through my handy "Box-O- Parts" once again,  and came up with a strange looking gun (from what toy line, I have no idea).  Turned on it's end, this gun became an air vent from a moisture condenser...or something.   I painted the base with a dark golden brown, then dry brushed it tan, then a light tan, then an off-white.
