Mike Schimdt was made from a Todd McFarlane baseball figure. I'm not sure which one I used, I just made sure that the original figure was right handed. The only sculpting I need to do was his hair and mustache. Which meant removing Mike's head from his body and his helmet from his head. That was easy. It was the painting that was the tough part. As you can see I went with the Phillies away uniform. Why you ask? Because painting pin stripes for the home outfit is a pain in the ass. I used colored vinyl tape for his stripes. It comes in a roll with various point sizes. I lay down the white first, then the red. For his name and number, I used white vinyl sticker letters. I kind I used had a slight ridge around them. This came in handy when painting the red centers. It allowed for quick painting and a white boarder around the letters.
