Colossus has always been on of my favorite X-Men. After I completed the Mega size Batman
figure, I was ready to make Colossus out of the same base figure. Tons of Dremeling had
to been done again to remove all of the original figure's detail. I then
needed to sculpted on his hair and ears with my Milliput Putty.
I then used red fabric for his top.
I dipped the fabric into a mixture of Elmer's Glue and water, this allowed the cloth to harden
without become too stiff. This in turn made the fabric MUCH easier to paint. For his black stripping
I went with really thin black tape. You can buy it at most hobby stores that carry radio controlled
cars. It's called "Pro Line Racing Tape" or "Pin Stripping". It made it much easier then trying
to paint the lines on the figure (and much cleaner!). After I painted the figure, I coated the whole figure
with a clear iridescent paint. This gave Colossus a wonderful metallic shine, that responses to
different types of light.
