I've been customizing action figures for over ten years now, and I was surprised to realize that I had never made a custom Captain America, (besides "Capt.Homer America") and I felt it was about time I did. I look all over for the ideal figure to use as a base, but I couldn't find a figure that had the dynamic pose I had in mind. That is until I found the Conan line from McFarlane. I stated by removing all unwanted detail from the base figure. That meant allot of craving with my X-acto knife. I then added details like his gloves, boots, belt and mask with my Magic Sculpt putty. I even sculpted a few of his "scales" on the upper part of his outfit. I customized the back of a shield from the Marvel Legends Capt. with real leather for my version and used a classic flag for added detail. I wanted Captain America to have a very dramatic pose to show off his patriotism.
